Celebrating 10 Years at Isles of Newport

Final touches are being put on the 68th and final stage, making Isles of Newport a thriving waterfront community in the Moreton Bay Region.

Shadforth has capped off ten years of work on the 144-hectare Isles of Newport, a striking masterplanned community on Queensland’s Redcliffe Peninsula. The neighbourhood will eventually be home to around 2,000 residences, built around a 22-hectare lake that connects directly to Moreton Bay.

Since breaking ground in 2015, the team has poured in $234 million of earthworks and civil construction, shifting an impressive 3.95 million cubic metres of soil, almost half of it to shape the lake itself. At the busiest point, up to 210 workers and 105 machines were on site, keeping the project moving at pace.

Big Numbers, Bigger Milestones

  • 68 Civil Stages Completed

  • 3,300m of Revetment Wall Installed

  • 159,000m² of Asphalt Laid

  • 1,380,000m³ of Marine Clay Treated

  • Wetlands and drainage corridors created to support local ecosystems

The project tackled tricky ground conditions and delicate coastal habitats, using innovative methods that safeguarded nearby RAMSAR-listed wetlands.

Recognition for a Standout Development

In 2024, development partner Stockland won the Masterplanned Communities Award, with the Isles of Newport also named a Project of the Year finalist. Shadforth recognise this project as a flagship example of large-scale coastal construction and sustainable design.
