Building Opportunity at Coolum Industrial Park
Project Spotlight
The delivery of industrial land in high-growth regions plays a critical role in supporting economic development, creating employment opportunities and enabling businesses to grow with confidence.
On the Sunshine Coast, Coolum Industrial Park Stage 2A is helping meet increasing demand for quality industrial land, with Shadforth delivering the next stage of development on behalf of Economic Development Queensland (EDQ). The project is creating opportunities for future industry investment while also supporting local employment, businesses and supply chains throughout the construction phase.
With limited medium impact industry zoned land currently available across the region, the expansion of Coolum Industrial Park will provide much-needed space for businesses seeking to establish or expand their operations close to key transport networks, suppliers and workforce hubs.
Shadforth on Site
Currently under construction, Stage 2A will deliver nine fully serviced industrial lots ranging in size from approximately 7,800sqm through to 2.4 hectares. The development forms part of a broader strategy to support long-term industrial growth on the Sunshine Coast by ensuring development-ready land is available where demand continues to rise.
Supporting Local Jobs and Industry
Over the duration of the project, Shadforth has recorded 271 unique site sign-ins, including 94 direct Shadforth employees and 186 subcontractor personnel. The project has engaged a broad range of local industry professionals and trades, including earthworks, roadworks, stormwater, sewer and water crews, electricians and landscapers.
Importantly, the entire workforce delivering the project is Sunshine Coast based. By engaging local operators, trades, suppliers and subcontractors, the project has helped provide consistent employment opportunities for local families while supporting businesses across the region through ongoing project expenditure.
The economic impact of the works also extends well beyond the workforce directly on site. Delivering new industrial lots requires a large network of subcontractors, consultants and suppliers, creating strong flow-on effects throughout the local supply chain.
From surveyors, service locators and testing laboratories, to quarry operators, transport providers, concrete suppliers and specialist installation teams, each stage of the project generates additional demand across multiple industries. Behind the scenes, the works also support truck drivers, workshop mechanics, fabrication teams and administration staff who play an essential role in keeping projects moving.
