University of Sunshine Coast (UniSC) Engineering Students Gain Real-World Insight on Site
First-year student’s experience the pace, collaboration and problem-solving behind live construction projects.
Last week, we were pleased to welcome first-year Engineering students from the University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC) for a site visit, providing an opportunity to experience firsthand what life on a live construction project is really like.
While classroom learning lays the foundation, stepping onto an active construction site gives students valuable insight into how engineering principles are applied in the real world. With the project currently at an exciting stage, the group were able to see the pace, coordination and technical problem-solving involved in delivering major infrastructure outcomes.
Throughout the visit, students engaged with project teams, observed active works and gained a greater understanding of the collaboration required across all areas of construction delivery. It was fantastic to see such strong enthusiasm, curiosity and engagement from everyone involved.
Experiences like these play an important role in supporting the next generation of engineers by helping bridge the gap between theory and practice, while providing context to the concepts students are learning throughout their studies.
We would like to thank everyone involved in hosting the visit, as well as the UniSC staff and students for bringing such great energy and interest to site.
We are proud to support future industry professionals and look forward to continuing our partnership with UniSC into the future.
