Greener from the Ground Up: New Site Compound Cuts Emissions and Boosts Efficiency.

The new compound has been designed with sustainability built in from the ground up, focusing on practical, everyday improvements that make a real difference on site. Key design decisions, such as improved traffic flow, help reduce congestion, idle time and emissions, while dust suppression measures have been included to improve overall site conditions. The use of green concrete was also a deliberate choice to lower the project’s carbon footprint from the outset.

From an operations perspective, we’ve taken a common-sense approach to reducing energy use. Solar has been installed across the site, and we’ve introduced afternoon shutdown checks to ensure air conditioning and any unnecessary power aren’t left running. Simple measures, like closing doors, also help prevent energy loss and maintain efficiency.

We’ve also focused on water and waste. Rainwater is captured from gutters into tanks and reused for watering lawns, cleaning walkways and other general site needs. On the waste side, we’ve implemented clear separation for food waste, cardboard, recycling, steel and other building materials to minimise what goes to landfill.

On top of that, we’re supporting broader sustainability initiatives through the use of B20 biodiesel and programs like Containers for Change. Altogether, it’s about making smarter choices at every level: reducing emissions, improving efficiency, and running a cleaner, more sustainable site overall.
