Protecting Koalas Through Habitat Restoration
Partnering with Stockland to restore native habitat and strengthen vital koala corridors.
Shadforth recently joined Stockland at Kings Forest to kick start a tree planting initiative that supports the long-term restoration of native habitat and the protection of local koala populations.
As part of Stockland's environmental commitment, one new tree is being planted for every tree removed during development. Existing pine trees are being replaced with blue gums and other native species, creating more suitable food sources and habitat while strengthening important koala corridors throughout the site.
The initiative demonstrates how thoughtful environmental planning can help deliver new communities while enhancing the natural environment and supporting local wildlife.
To add a fun and friendly element to the initiative, Stockland labelled each tree with the participating company's name. Over the next 12 months, the trees will be monitored, with a prize awarded to the company whose tree grows the tallest.
