Inspiring the Next Generation
Bray Park State High School Site Tour at The Sanctuary - Warner.
Shadforth is committed to fostering the next generation of civil construction professionals by providing hands-on learning experiences that showcase career pathways within the industry. As part of this commitment, we recently hosted a site tour for students from Bray Park State High School at our active site in Warner, in collaboration with Ausbuild and Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ).
This initiative, delivered in collaboration with Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ), was designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry experience, giving students a firsthand look at what a career in civil construction entails.
The visit focused on:
Exploring career opportunities in civil construction, highlighting the diverse roles available and pathways into the industry.
Providing an immersive learning experience, guiding students through key areas of the development and explaining the stages of land development, from earthworks to road and infrastructure delivery.
Encouraging direct engagement with industry professionals, allowing students to ask questions and gain insight into the skills required for different positions.
Sharing real-world experiences with engineers and project team members, offering practical advice on career progression and industry entry points.
Events like this form part of Shadforth’s broader community engagement strategy, aimed at educating, inspiring, and supporting local talent in pursuing rewarding careers in construction. By actively connecting with schools and students, we are not only fostering future industry professionals, but also reinforcing our role as a leader in people development and community involvement.
