SkyRidge
Scope of Works
Shadforth have been engaged as a key delivery partner for Skyridge, the Gold Coast’s most significant residential subdivision in decades. Once complete, the project will provide up to 3,500 residential lots supported by schools, major parks, and community infrastructure. Shadforth were brought in early through an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) process, enabling us to provide input into design and construction constraints and deliver optimised solutions before construction commenced. Our scope spans bulk earthworks, roadworks, stormwater, sewer, and water networks, as well as bridges, intersections, wetlands, and recreational facilities, establishing the critical civil foundations that will underpin this landmark community.
Challenges and Innovations
The project has presented complex challenges, including extensive blasting and rock processing, major SEQ Watermain relocations, and construction activities adjacent to sensitive creek environments. Through proactive planning and high-level environmental compliance, Shadforth ensured works proceeded without impact to the surrounding ecosystems, setting a benchmark in environmental stewardship. Our environmental performance was recognised when Shadforth was named a finalist in the 2024 IECA Environmental Excellence Awards for our ESC Controls at Skyridge.
This proactive approach reduced reliance on external quarries and supply chains, ensuring continuity of works during a period of significant industry disruption. By producing materials directly for the project, Shadforth not only achieved cost certainty and program reliability but also delivered notable sustainability benefits by reducing haulage distances, lowering emissions, and maximising the use of site-won resources.
