NewGen Business Park

Scope of Works

NewGen Business Park is one of Brisbane’s largest industrial subdivisions located off the Cunningham Highway. Shadforth was engaged in 2022 to deliver bulk earthworks and large-scale retaining wall works across the 70-hectare site. The scope included site clearing, topsoil stripping and the design and construction of erosion and sediment control measures. Works also involved the remediation of a large existing dam, including the removal of uncontrolled fill within the dam wall and de-mucking activities, all undertaken under Level 1 supervision to ensure compliance with safety and environmental requirements.

Challenges and Innovations

Tight project timelines meant close monitoring of daily cut-to-fill volumes against the baseline program was critical. On average, the team achieved approximately 12,000m³ of cut-to-fill per day using a high-capacity fleet, including 651 and 637 scrapers, D10 and D11 dozers, multiple compactors and dedicated water carts. Redundancy was built into the plant strategy, with spare machines available to mitigate downtime, ensuring production targets were consistently met and the program maintained.
