Flagstone Logistics Estate
Scope of Works
As the civil contractor engaged for the Flagstone Logistics Estate, our role has been pivotal in transforming this previously functional cattle station into a 100-hectare industrial and logistics subdivision fit for scalable infrastructure. Situated strategically near the Mount Lindesay Highway and the Logan Motorway interchange, the estate is poised to become a vital hub for commerce and logistics businesses alike.
Shadforth has been engaged to perform two large-scale earthworks packages, along with an extensive civil package involving intricate stormwater drainage, roadwork construction, sewer installation, and water reticulation.
Challenges and Innovations
The project presented significant geotechnical and environmental challenges, including saturated soils, high groundwater levels, acid sulphate soils and works adjacent to environmentally sensitive areas. Shadforth implemented innovative earthworks methodologies, including lime stabilisation of subgrade and tailored groundwater management strategies, to maintain program certainty and long-term pavement performance.
Shadforth managed construction of this large-scale industrial estate that met best practice operational and sustainability requirements. Complex ground conditions were managed through targeted rock treatment, controlled blasting and re-compaction across lots and roadways, while safely coordinating works beneath and around existing Powerlink high-voltage transmission lines. The scope also required robust erosion and sediment control during bulk earthworks, including the construction of a large temporary high-efficiency basin, alongside careful staging to accommodate future transport connections and ongoing development of the estate.
