Ellendale Bridge Construction
Scope of Works
The Rosella Street Bridge at Ellendale Estate provides a permanent connection between two completed stages of the Upper Kedron community. Delivered in two phases, the project included the construction of a new bridge structure followed by intersection upgrades, services integration and landscaping to connect the bridge into the existing estate road network.

Piling works and construction of bridge piers and abutments
Installation of 51 precast deck units using dual-crane lifts
Construction of a 65m long, 20m wide bridge structure
Creek bed stabilisation and revegetation works

Intersection and Estate Integration Works
Stormwater upgrades to accommodate bridge drainage requirements
Installation and connection of electrical, NBN and communications services
Road pavement construction and asphalt sealing

Challenges and Innovations
A key challenge involved installing 51 precast deck units beneath live Powerlink high-voltage transmission lines. Through innovative crane lifting plans, which involved the use of dual cranes to safely position each deck unit while maintaining strict safety controls.
Works were also completed within a narrow corridor containing environmentally protected areas, requiring careful management of earthworks, creek bed stabilisation and revegetation to minimise environmental impact.
Through staged construction and close coordination of civil, structural and services works, the project successfully delivered a permanent connection between stages of the Ellendale Estate, improving access and supporting the continued development of the surrounding community.
